U16 and U18 Apex Racers (U16 – born in 2002 or 2003), ( U18 – born in 2000 or 2001)
These athletes continue to learn to train and improve their racing skills. They continue to develop their skiing skills while acquiring tactical skills in giant slalom and slalom. Personal achievement, camaraderie and fun is what the program is all about.
Dryland training begins in September and the on-snow program begins at the end of November or early December through to April, conditions permitting. The U16 and U18 racers have the opportunity to train on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday as well as through Christmas and Spring Break.
U16 and U18 Program Fee: $2,040 and includes
- Dryland training
- BC Alpine athlete registration (includes insurance)
- BC Alpine parent/guardian registration required for membership and insurance coverage
- Apex Ski Club family membership
- There will be an additional charge of $100 per family for 2 tickets to the Club Fundraiser with details below.
- Apex Mountain Resort lift passes and Race Fees are NOT included in the program fees.
Race Fees: Every skier is required to provide post-dated cheques for race fees. The post-dated cheques are to be included with registration. Any unused race fees will be reimbursed to the family.
U16 race fees are $1,600. Cheques for $400 are to be post dated for January 1, 2018, February 1, 2018, March 1, 2018 and April 1, 2018.
U18 race fees are $1,200. Cheques for $400 are to be post dated for January 1, 2018, February 1, 2018 and March 1, 2018.
Registration: Register on line under the Registration tab on our website. Athletes must be registered by September 13 to participate in dryland training. Payment in full is required by November 15, 2017 to participate in ski training.
Payment method: PayPal, cheque or extended payment plan.
Club Fundraiser: Each year, the Apex Ski Club hosts a fundraiser dinner and silent auction. Monies raised go directly back into the club. It’s a fabulous way to meet other parents (and see what they look like without their helmets, goggles and winter gear). Tickets are $50 each and families must purchase two tickets upon registration. The tickets can be resold if you are unable to attend.
For athletes that are injured during the race season, a pro-rated portion of the coaching fees may be refunded. BC Alpine fees, family memberships and fundraising fees, Insurance, Competitor and AAP cards are non-refundable.
Program fees are only refunded for medical reasons. Pre-existing medical conditions do not qualify for refunds. Refunds are subject to $100 administration fee. Event and race registration fees are non-refundable. Any fees to be refunded will be done at the end of the program season.
